DALING SHEAR

Ms. Au’saun Anita Squire is a Chicago Native but has roots in Atlanta where she started her dance training. She studied Ballet, Modern, Jazz and African at North Springs Charter School of Arts. She began dancing professionally right out of high school in 2008. Highlights include working with Bubba Carr, Rhonda Henriksen, Tracy Vogt, Hinton Battle, and Lauri Stallings. Moving back to Chicago the summer of 2011, Darling started her own collaborative artist group called Suna Dance. Currently an apprentice with Cerqua Rivera Dance Theatre, she is a freelance dancer and choreographer often working with The Fly Honeys or other dance companies.

White Man Sleeps is inspired by Kevin Volans’ five movement score of the same name played by Kronos Quartet. Seen through the dreamscape of a white man, society shifts when minorities gain power after years of being oppressed.
