artist statement
REBECCA WEEKS and IAN WHITFORD have been working together since 2010 in order to directly address the boundaries between experience and art. influenced by literature, art, philosophy, ritual, horror, porn and punk they blur the boundaries of performance art and common culture. their work touches upon issues of class, gender, and sexuality.
in this new performance they are focused on the experience of disability, the work that it generates and the compensation that is made for it by the other within a relationship. they will perform two separate and overlapping sets of healing and sustaining actions that express their belief in the power of persistence, faith, hope, magic and love to bring us through the darkest times.

they are co – founders and co – directors of CORNWALL AUTONOMOUS ZONE, an independent artist led project space/network. CAZ was founded in 2010 and is focused on supporting regional/national/international artists/curators working in performance, installation, video, art writing and research. www.cazart.org.uk
