we remount “MIRRORS” and present the world premiere of “TOUCH”, a lyrical look at the chance encounters that alter the course of our lives. “MIRRORS” was first produced by writer, director, and choreographer, ELLYZABETH ADLER working in collaboration with CHICAGO DANZTHEATRE ENSEMBLE artist director JACK RYAN in the fall of 2011.

“MIRRORS” tells the story of four alienated characters whose longing for connection in a world that privileges individualism is brought into focus as they each encounter mirror images of themselves. after closing “MIRRORS” to favorable reviews, ADLER again turned to the poetry of RUMI, to develop “TOUCH”. Premiering for the first time anywhere, “TOUCH”, tells the story of a young woman and an elderly man, whose chance meeting at a cemetery brings their lives closer than they ever could have imagined.

it is everyday, a normal day, it is one day that a chance meeting can change, influence and touch your life and send you on a different course. – ELLYZABETH ADLER, “TOUCH”
