The presenters invite the audience to actively engage and participate on creating strategies of social activism that can be implemented in local and global communities. Gustavo Bonfiglioli [www.bonfiglioli.com] is a journalist, cultural producer and artivist in Revolta da Lâmpada and consultant in diversity in Pajubá, Diversity in Network. He is also an active contributor at MIX BRASIL, (Annual LBGTQ+ Cultural Festival).
Marina Cortes Calle [www.instagram.com/marinacortescalle] is a Chicago based interdisciplinary artist with focus on performance, film and curatorial practice attending the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Originally born in Spain and raised in Brazil, her work is deeply inspired by social practice, community oriented work and social activism. She has performed at different venues in Chicago (No Nation, Outterspace, Defibrillator, Flat Iron, Links Hall) and internationally, (Casa da Luz in SP and SomoS Art in Berlin).
The Zhou B Art Center is a private non-government funded complex that facilitates the exchange of contemporary art between Chicago and the international art community. Founded in 2004 by the Zhou Brothers in Chicago’s historic Bridgeport neighborhood, The Zhou B Art Center has a mission to engage in cultural dialogue through contemporary art exhibitions and international programming.
