JON SATROM & BEN SYVERSON have been involved with collaborative new media projects since the turn of the century. Since the release of the Satromizer AfterEffects Plugin in 2001, their technology initiative, PoxParty, has revolutionized and leveled the playing-field for new-media artists to create, control, and optimize experimental and often glitchy work-flows. PoxParty’s proprietary suite of creative tools make being a new media-artist more productive than ever.
POXCON brings together programmers, writers, artists and creative technologists to for a day of developing never-imagined problems to artistic resolutions. Come to the PoxLabs Hackathon (10-6) and learn how PoxParty employs “Creative Problem Creating” strategies to develop cutting-edge tools and services that push the digital envelope. Following the Hackathon, The Pox Design Awards (7:30-8:00) will feature projects from the hackathon and highlight other projects that have influenced the field. After the Design Awards, PoxParty will share a keynote presentation (8:00-on) chock-full of product updates and sneak peaks of new releases.
